A Complex Re-platforming project

Magento to Shopify Plus

Paperchase made the decision to re-platform from an ageing Magento website to Shopify Plus and I was brought in to manage the project from beginning to end.

The core objective for the re-platforming was to decrease cost to the business - to remove so much reliance on expensive external development and to enable more day-to-day website management in house.

Secondary to this was streamlining the product data flow around the business - data was in disparate systems and data transfer was - in many cases - completed manually, which was prone to human error.

Overseeing the core design & dev agency alongside 4 external supplier and internal stakeholders, the build took 6 months.

The new website drove the highest ever conversion rate and ATV for Paperchase.


Inventory Integration

An integration into iForce, who managed the inventory and fulfillment process across multiple channels for Paperchase. Orders were sent to iForce and once picked and packed, notifcation would come back to Shopify to trigger the correct customer comms regarding their order.


PIM Integration

It was decided that the source of truth for product data would be Akeneo, and so an integration - via a new middleware - was built, to enable accurate product data to be pushed to the website as it was updated.


Ometria CRM

Direct integation with Ometria, Paperchase's CRM tool. Order and Customer data was sent, as well as custom integrations to enable Back In Stock and Wishlist emails to be triggered from Ometria.


Accentuate Custom Fields

ACF was installed to extend the product page experience - adding product labels, specific product reviews, related products and relevant cross sell and upsell opportunities.


Loyalty Integration

We integrated the existing 'Treat Me' loyalty programme so that customers could collect and redeem their 'Treats' across in-store and online purchases - available treats were ingested as customer tags once available to them, which were auto applied at the checkout.


Klevu install

Klevu was installed on the new Shopify site, to drive Search and Merchandising. The AI tool was used to re-order products collection pages based on behaviour and search terms and search queries linked to the right products, to avoid search abandonment.
